It is a competition. It is an event. And it is our biggest fundraiser of the year!
This year the Showdown is going to be bigger and better than ever. With a goal of raising over $100,000 we are raising the stakes! We are inviting back some of our best builders, and challenging all of the woodworkers, artisans, and experienced craftspeople in our community to throw their hat in the ring to compete for the coveted Scrappy Award. Apply to be a builder by June 30th!
The Salvage Showdown takes place on September 18, 2025 at 5:30pm, at the ReBuilding Center. This year's ticketed event features:
A beer and wine reception,
A seated dinner in our lumberyard,
Presentation of The Scrappy to the top vote-getting Builder, and
An exciting live auction of a selection of builds to raise money in support of our work!
APPLY TO BE A BUILDER
For this year's Salvage Showdown, we are seeking up to 20 Builders to create useful and unique pieces from reclaimed materials in support of the ReBuilding Center's mission to make reuse and repair accessible and affordable for all. Builders are encouraged to build functional, beautiful, practical pieces that guests at the event will vie for during a live auction, raising money for our organization while being featured at the event!
Application Deadline: June 30, 2025 (Application review begins June 15, 2025 - submit early!)
2024 WINNERS
The competition last year was off the charts - we were amazed by all of the amazing builds! Congrats to Peter from Sidetracked Workshop for wining the coveted SCRAPPY AWARD!
His colleague Leo also came ready to compete - and took home the top prize in the Living Room Category. Flora's gorgeous study desk wowed the crowd in the Bedroom Category, and the hardworking TimberFinders made a bench for the Garden Category that stunned us all!
