- Wednesday, August 24, 5:30-8:30pm
- Wednesday, August 31, 5:30-8:30pm

CLASS DESCRIPTION

Often touted as the most versatile tool in the shop or garage, the Table Saw is also one of the most powerful (and potentially risky) machines on the market today. But, when treated with a healthy dose of respect, these machines become trusty companions and open up all kinds of potential for efficiency and creativity.

Students will have the chance to practice their new table saw skills by building a gallery style picture frame which will require all of the techniques covered during formal instruction, including rip cuts, dadoes, and box joints. Maximum photo size is 5”x7” and glass will need to be purchased separately (we’ll give suggestions for where to buy).

This is a project-based class and you'll be able to take your picture frame home after Day 2.

Topics covered:

  • Basic table saw anatomy, maintenance, and safety

  • Rip cutting vs. Cross-cutting

  • Rabbets, dadoes, and dado stacks

  • Joinery-related cuts such as box-joints and finger-joints

  • Making and using table saw jigs

  • Table saw accessories for safety and advanced usage, including miter gauges, crosscut sleds, featherboards

Skill level: This is for adults aged 18 or over. This is a beginner class though some prior experience with woodworking is helpful.

Class Schedule: Class will run for 3 hours each day with no break planned
