Day of Service
Every year, we team up with the African American Alliance for Homeownership to perform critical home maintenance and repairs for up to 10 homeowners living with low incomes in North and Northeast Portland. Groups & individual volunteers are welcome!
We generally take on projects like: carpentry, painting, small electrical (switch replacements, ceiling fan installation, etc), yard maintenance, fence mending/building, and minor plumbing repairs and fixture replacements.
No experience in home repair or carpentry needed; but if you've got some skills, make them known! We are always seeking skilled tradespeople to lead our volunteer teams.
Corporate groups can volunteer as a team to work on one home project together, and can sponsor their project's materials costs with a gift of $1,000.
