Often touted as the most versatile tool in the shop or garage, the Table Saw is also one of the most powerful (and potentially risky) machines on the market today. But, when treated with a healthy dose of respect, these machines become trusty companions and open up all kinds of potential for efficiency and creativity.
This is a skills-based class, but you’ll be able to try many different types of cuts and take home a sample piece as a reference.
Topics covered:
Basic table saw anatomy, maintenance, and safety
Rip cutting vs. Cross-cutting
Rabbets, dadoes, and dado stacks
Joinery-related cuts such as box-joints and finger-joints
Making and using table saw jigs
Table saw accessories for safety and advanced usage, including miter gauges, crosscut sleds, featherboards
Skill level: This is for adults aged 18 or over as well as 16 and 17 year-olds with parent or guardian permission. This is a beginner class though some prior experience with woodworking is helpful.
Class Schedule: Class will run for 3 hours each day with no break planned
