Safety guidelines
We will provide safety glasses for all members, though you are welcome to bring your own from home if you prefer.
Masks are not required in the Shop. However, we strongly encourage attendees to continue to wear masks to help protect against inhaling sawdust.
Hearing protection is strongly encouraged when using saws and other tools. We will provide several options for hearing protection, but you are welcome to bring your own.
Wear closed-toe shoes — no sandals! (no exceptions)
Long hair must be tied back.
Do not wear any dangling jewelry or baggy clothing.
All students will be required to sign a liability waiver prior to using the shop.
Accessibility
The ReBuilding Center Education Department works to be accessible, inclusive, and welcoming to students of all skill levels and levels of mobility. Your experience in the Shop is important to us, and we want to prepare in advance the tools and methods that will make all of our students successful.
If you have a disability (including but not limited to learning or attention, vision, mobility, hearing, physical or other health-related) or other health concerns (such as potential for light-headedness or low blood sugar) that might impact your participation in class, please contact the Education Department at least 24 hours prior to attending Open Shop to discuss accommodations.
