DeConstruction Services is currently dismantling two large turn-of-the-century NE Portland buildings. Built in the early 1900’s, they total 11,439 sq ft of finished space. The larger structure features architectural splendors indicative of the era: mahogany wainscoting, leaded glass, large double-pocket doors, and a brick veneer rising up to a high pitched roof with ornate overhangs. By choosing to deconstruct rather than demolish these buildings, the lumber saved for reuse is the equivalent of 189 trees left standing.
