Hey ReBuilders! As we enter one of the largest spending weekends of the year, we are reflecting on what sustainability means to us.
At the ReBuilding Center, we’ve had a year full of positive impact, keeping usable materials out of the waste stream, empowering our community to choose repair over replacement, and maintaining everyday affordable prices on reclaimed materials.
Here’s some of what we’ve accomplished together in 2024:
1.5 MILLION pounds of material saved from landfills 🌎
Over $400,000 saved by our community purchasing affordable reclaimed materials 💸
1,400+ people taught essential home repair skills 🔧
480+ free repair class registrations through our Home Repair for All program 🛠️
As you can see, our definition of sustainability is about more than saving materials and circularity. It’s also about saving our neighbors money, because we believe that truly sustainable communities begin with the ability to meet one’s needs without struggle.
This is a huge reason why we work so hard to make home repair affordable to all, equip DIYers and artists on a budget, and build practical repair skills, and keep our city’s abundance of stuff in use by people who love it, all at a fraction of the cost you’d find anywhere else.
But all this awesomeness only happens with financial support from our community.
