Woodturning: Make a Ballpoint pen
Never turned on the lathe before, or interested in learning a new woodturning skill? This class is for you! Learn all about fingernail gouges and carbide tools. Start by practicing beads and coves, the foundation of woodturning. You'll be re-using hardwood from old floor boards! Get immediate satisfaction when the wood comes off the lathe and you have a magic wand! Be creative, make the shape as simple or detailed as you would like.
This is a project-based class and you’ll take your pen home with you.
Choose from different woods that you will drill, glue, and turn, all on the lathe. Learn how to use roughing gouges, spindle gouges, and carbide tools to shape the wood. At the end, assemble the pieces and go home with a functioning pen and instructions on how to change the ink.
